Colin was born in London and started hairstyling at 17 years old . Employed by Vidal Sassoon Gold soon realised he had his own ideas , style and point of view and became freelance .
Golds break in hairstyling came in the 80s whilst he was working at the famed underground Mudd Club as doorman . Selecting who looked way cool enough to gain entry one night Gold met Vivienne Westwood who asked him to work on designing the hair for her up coming show starring her muse model Sara Stockbridge .Gold went on to design hair for shows for Pam Hogg , Boy London , Alexander Mcqueen and Givenchy to name a few.
His early editorial years were spent hair styling on set working closely with photographers Glen Luchford and Corinne Day shooting for The Face and i-D .Golds archive imagery include working with the late great stylist Barren Kamen and photographer Jaime Morgan the creator of Buffalo .
Gold having lived in Milan , Paris , London and NewYork now works internationally for bookings . His style is inspired by street fashion , club culture and his love for Hollywood glamour which you can see gold injects into his work , creating his easily recognisable personal style .
Gold has and continues to work with some of the top names in the fashion industry including Josh Olins Matthias Vreins Mc Grath and Solve Sundsbo .
He has worked on prestige advertising campaigns for Burberry , Chloe , Dianne Von Furstenburg , Louis Vuitton , Stephen jones , Puma , French Connection , Levis , All Saints to name but a few .
Golds love for fashion and years of world experience hairstyling on set and on location , working on imagery of high luxe to raw understated , along with his fresh point of view and energy make him a great asset for collaboration , references and inspiration to any team .
His celebrity modern visual style approach and personal support is always gratefully received and appreciated.
